About Terry Alexander

For the past 25 years, glass has been an integral part of life for Terry Alexander.

In the latter part of the 70's up to the mid 80's Terry worked as a drilling fluids consultant on the offshore oil drilling platforms in the gulf of Mexico and commuted to his home on Smith Lake in north Alabama during his off time. He realized that he was spending too much time away from family and home; it was time for a new career.

He bumped into stained glass at a local craft show and thought "WOW this is it." He spent the next two years studying art glass and its applications opening his own studio afterwards. He laughs when he says, "I have spent as much time studying in church as a preacher," but he knew that was where he wanted to work. His focus of study is glass painting and the best methods for making a window stand for 100 years.

During the past 25 years, Terry had the opportunity to study with Albinos Elskis, John Neussbaum, and Kenneth Von Roenn. Over the years, Terry attended many classes on drawing and design at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Karen Reed at Earth Star Glass Studio has been the greatest influence in helping develop new painting techniques that has led to the opening of Stained Glass Medallions.

He has 15 years experience working in his own studio. In addition, some of his other experience includes working in studios at Ron Hogan Art & Glass, Lumpkin Stained Glass, and Classic Doors, all located in Huntsville, AL.

Terry's years of dedication have culminated in a combination of creative ingenuity, enthusiasm, and technical expertise with an emphasis on customer service.

In the words of Rev. Charles Alookaran of St. Paul Catholic Church, Athens, and AL. "My heart is full of gratitude...We knew you would provide beautiful windows: however, no one could have prepared me for how exquisite they would be. Thank You."
